During the Southwest Monsoon season, weather systems in the form of cyclonic circulations, low pressure areas or even as a depression or deep depression affect the progress of Monsoon and its spread. More Monsoon systems are seen developing in the Bay of Bengal as compared to the Arabian Sea.A couple of systems have already formed both in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Just about a few days ago, a Monsoon system had developed in the Bay, which further crossed coast and is now lying over Chhattisgarh. This system is expected to become less marked Now, under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, a low pressure has formed in the west-central Bay off the Odisha adjoining Andhra Pradesh coast. The system has become more marked and is seen up to mid-levels.The new system is expected to move more towards the north as compared to the last one. During the next 24 to 36 hours, the weather system is likely to move inland. Thus, the previous weather system is expected to merge with the new one.More rains are expected over Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and the Northern Plains. Delhi will also receive some rains during this period. In fact, the previous Monsoon systems, an approaching Western Disturbance and the fresh low pressure area will enhance the Monsoon current and result in further advancement of Southwest Monsoon over Delhi as well. This system will also play a major role in taking Southwest Monsoon further.Weather models indicate the development of a fresh Monsoon system in North Bay of Bengal itself after about four to five days.
