After rising throughout July, benchmark prices have been either flat or lower in the first half of August.Values for the December NY futures contract climbed to levels over 75 cents/lb in early August, but have since retreated to values below 71 cents/lb.he A Index followed a nearly identical pattern as NY futures, with values climbing above 85 cents/lb in early August and then decreasing to levels below 82 cents/lb recently.After rising steadily throughout most of July, the China Cotton (CC 3128B) Index declined slightly in August. In international terms, values climbed as high 105 cents/lb in late July. Recent values have been holding at levels near 101 cents/lb. In domestic terms, the CC Index reached values as high as 15,400 RMB/ton in late July. The most recent figures have been near 14,800 RMB/ton.for the Indian Shankar-6 variety have not decreased much but appear to have stopped increasing. After peaking around 92 cents/lb in mid-July, values have been trading near 90 cents/lb recently. In local terms, values were as high as 48,500 INR/candy and have been near 47,000 lately.Movement in Pakistani spot prices moved erratically higher. In international terms, spot prices rose from 69 to 79 cents/lb. In domestic terms, prices rose from 5,800 to 6,700 PKR/maund.
