An upper air cyclonic circulation can be seen over Southwest Madhya Pradesh, adjoining areas of Gujarat and North Madhya Maharashtra, extending up to mid tropospheric level. The system is tilting southwestwards with height. During next 24 hours, it is likely to weaken and move further west. Another cyclonic circulation is prevailing over west-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast between 4.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level. The system is expected to advance in a west-northwest direction. The Monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Anupnagar, Bikaner and Jaisalmer. A fresh Western Disturbance as a trough now runs across East Jammu and Kashmir. Monsoon activity in last 24 hours Many parts of the country have received good rains barring areas in Northwest India. Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bhira witnessed a whopping 175 mm of rain followed by Mahabaleshwar recording 174 mm rainfall. Other areas to have received good rains include Malegaon received 96 mm, Alibag 87 mm, Ratnagiri 60 mm and Mumbai 57 mm. Southwest Monsoon was active over East Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and South Gujarat. In a span of 24 hours, Khajuraho recorded 40 mm of rain, Durg 56 mm, and Bhavnagar 46 mm. Normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Northeast India inclusive Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and Odisha. Light to moderate rains were witnessed over the region. Subdued Monsoon rains were seen over most parts of South Peninsular India. Almost entire Northwest India remained dry. The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from parts of West Rajasthan. Monsoon Forecast for the next 24 hours Southwest Monsoon is likely to give moderate rains with isolated heavy falls along the West Coast including Mumbai, Madhya Maharashtra, Southwest Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rains may occur over many parts of Northeast India, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, rest of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. Scattered rains are also expected over parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Karnataka, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mainly dry weather conditions will prevail over most parts of Northwest India.
