RAJKOT, SEPTEMBER 16: Price of cotton remained unchanged as demand was low from domestic mills after rates went up during the week on delay in new arrivals. Trader said that generally at this time, new cotton crops starts arriving in the market in Gujarat and Maharashtra, but this year, new arrivals have been delayed quite a bit, which has lifted up cotton prices during this week. After that demand from mills has decreased and price remained steady on Friday. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was traded at Rs44,000-46,000 per candy of 356 kg. About 900 bales of cotton arrived in India of which 200 bales arrived in Gujarat. Kapas or raw cotton was stood atRs1,050-1,150 per 20 kg, and cotton seed was quotedRs580-600 per 20 kg. According to traders, price may move down in next week as new crop arrival likely to increase.
