Karachi : Slow trading activity was recorded at the Karachi Cotton Exchange on Thursday, while spot rates remained unchanged. The spot rates stood firm at Rs7,500/maund (37.324kg) and Rs8,038/40kg. Ex-Karachi rates also remained unchanged at Rs8,038/maund and Rs8,193/40kg after an addition of Rs145 and Rs155 as upcountry expenses, respectively. An analyst said a very few stocks are left with the ginners and buyers continued to build up their stocks with whatsoever was left with the ginners. Karachi cotton market recorded seven transactions of around 2,600 bales in the range of Rs6,430 to Rs7,750/maund. Of these, 400 bales were recorded from Khanpur, 200 bales from Liaquatpur, 800 bales from Yazman Mandi, 323 bales from Sadiqabad, 304 bales from Rahimyar Khan, 200 bales from Fort Abbas and 400 bales of Dharanwala exchanged hands.
