Net sales of 193,100 running bales for 2017/2018 were up 2 percent from the previous week, but down 21 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Vietnam (89,800 RB, including decreases of 6,400 RB), China (21,600 RB, including 5,800 RB switched from Hong Kong and decreases of 4,500 RB), Indonesia (21,000 RB, including 4,000 RB switched from China, 400 RB switched from Japan, and decreases of 2,200 RB), Turkey (16,300 RB, including decreases of 3,200 RB), and South Korea (13,300 RB, including decreases of 600 RB). For 2018/2019, net sales of 228,600 RB were primarily for China (88,800 RB), El Salvador (56,300 RB), Honduras (24,800 RB), and Mexico (23,500 RB). Exports of 510,500 RB were up 18 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (78,600 RB), Turkey (78,300 RB), China (64,900 RB), Pakistan (64,300 RB), and Indonesia (41,200 RB). Net sales of Pima totaling 3,300 RB for 2017/2018 were down 70 percent from the previous week and 42 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily reported for India (2,100 RB) and China (900 RB). Reductions were reported for Japan (100 RB). For 2018/2019, net sales of 300 RB were for India. Exports of 10,300 RB were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 2 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were India (3,700 RB), China (3,600 RB), and Turkey (1,300 RB).
