♦ The depression over Odisha has moved westnorthwest direction and lay over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha, centred at 0530 hours IST of today, the 16th August 2018 near Lat. 20.5°N and Long. 82.0°E, about 80 Km southeast of Raipur and about 300 km easts outheast of Nagpur. It is very likely to move west northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked area during next 12 hours. ♦ The trough from the cyclonic circulation associated with the above depression to southeast Rajasthan across south Chhattisgarh and south Madhya Pradesh between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level persists. ♦ The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Jabalpur, Pendra road, centre of the depression over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha and thence east southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal. ♦ The feeble off shore trough at mean sea level runs from south Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists. ♦ A low pressure is likely to develop over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 18th August. ♦ The cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh at 3.1 km above mean sea level persists. ♦ The cyclonic circulation between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level over northern parts of Punjab & neighbourhood persists.
